Abstract

the article examines the need for the development of the student’s personality and the formation of his creative potential. Such concepts as creativity, creative potential are considered; the conditions for the successful development of students' creative abilities in the process of learning a foreign language are analyzed. Some ways to solve the problem of developing the creative abilities of students of national groups by introducing them to various extracurricular activities held at the Russian language department are proposed. Scope of application of the results: teaching in higher education.
